The Neydo tradition is a rare union of the Kagyu and Nyingma schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Founded in the 17th century by Mahasiddha Karma Chagme Rinpoche, who held both the Neydo Kagyu lineage and the Palyul, Dzogchen, and Namcho lineages of Nyingma, it became a single profound stream of Dharma that spread across Kham and Amdo.
As the principal Dharma heir of the Namcho treasure teachings, Karma Chagme Rinpoche united Mahamudra and Maha-Ati (Dzogchen), becoming a key holder of the Ancient Translation Tradition. Through direct empowerments and influential writings, his teachings inspired generations of practitioners.
Today, this living lineage continues at Neydo Tashi Choling Monastery, preserving the depth and unity of Tibetan Buddhist wisdom.
